I could cover discussion board/site rules, and then just generally keep an eye on mechanics/alien & weapon ideas/character creation. Or whatever you might need help with.

Hello... so this site is still alive? Well if activity kicks in and my character can get approved, I can become active. Also hey to the site, I see that many had changed. Anything I need to know about? Like new rules and such?

Welcome back Piranah, and yeah, there have been a lot of changes since I last remember you being active. Simple check out the FAQ, Site Rules & Mechanics in the Gantz FAQ category.

I don't think the rules have changed since I've been around, but it seems like you've been away for a pretty long time, so it's very likely different. =p (EDIT: Ah, looking at Ron's post, that's a definite. @.@) But given that we're undergoing a big time revamp, there are definitely some changes and new additions to the RP being made: -The possibility of playing as a psychic -New mods and Projects (including one involving PvP situations, and another where previously dead Gantzers will come back to life as a reward for returnees) - heck, if you're interested in being a mod and having your own Project, you can apply for a mod position yourself! Ron also posted the miscellaneous mod positions available a few posts back in this thread, so if you're interested, check it out. - If you want, you may also throw out other suggestions of things you'd like to see added, on top of other people's suggestions, in this thread. It also links to the current rules, FAQ and mechanics, so if you're still curious on if anything changed, this would be a good place to look.

Well there has been too many rules now since I last visit. I guess I will just have to play so I can get use to it. So this is still a free form text base rp right? No stats and stuff?
Well when can we start the game?

Alright, activity is going down again. I highly recomend that we get on with mod training and getting the roleplays moving again. If we're not doing anything, then people are going to leave. We can't just keep posting "I'm here" and hope that revives the site, it needs more than that. Ronnie, if you can, think to yourself and tell us everything that needs to be done, don't just ask "Who's willing to help". Lots of people are willing to help but we need to know 'what' we should help with, and we need to be given the ability to do that. If you need to give us mod training, PM all the new mods the password and we can get to work in there, but again, that relies on you. So please, don't let things slip away again.

I understand what you're saying calcus, and all I ask is that you have some patience. As I've stated before, I'm simply only gathering staff at the moment, because as of now I'm not even home, I'm in Georgia. My time on the computer won't be limited as it is now since I should have it up and running when I get back to Philadelphia in a week.
Rome wasn't built in a day, but I doubt it'll take us as long to rebuild our site. We just need time at the moment.
Edit: Yeah, and we haven't even been advertising...if anything, you're the only other new mod who has posted an application. I appreciate the quick response, and I wish Craz and Halo were as enthusiastic about getting a spot.

If it seems like we're taking it slow, I'd like for it to be clear that it's because we want to make sure things get done right. I agree that mod training should be a priority. The fact remains that we're coming out of a long period of inactivity, though, and we need to get organized before we jump into action imo. I'd like to see the site have little wait time between character creation and introducing new characters into RP; staggering the start of missions has worked for this in the past. Setting up mod positions has to happen before we can decide who goes when, imo, and mod training should most likely take place before that. So, basically, I think calcus has a point; mod training is the first logical place to start our resurrection.

That was my plan, but as it stands now, I can't even get started on that until I'm back at home next week.

Benry, I sent out a global email, so unless you expected me to look you up in the foriegn yellow pages, I pretty much did everything in my power to contact you and everyone else. Then again, I pretty much figured you'd show up eventually, considering that you showed up on Gantz Players. Lol, I assumed it'd only be a matter of times before word got out to the refugees that migrated there. Anyways, It's great to see you though man, and I'm glad you came back! And just to catch up to pace, were not yet open for business as far as roleplaying is concerned. Right now were getting our bearings and trying to establish a strong staff of mods. While we're working on that we're considering the idea of implementing new things in our roleplaying system while its still convenient to do so. So pretty much, we're making moves, but nothing is being rushed... If you change your mind and would like to mod you'll need to participate in mod training like everyone else who is interested. EDIT: Oh, and everyone please welcome our third admin, Shad! Our admin team is now complete, and to be honest, I'm psyched, because the three of us made a good team in the past! I could cover discussion board/site rules, and then just generally keep an eye on mechanics/alien & weapon ideas/character creation. Or whatever you might need help with. Thanks, I'll let you know if a spot of that sort becomes available. However, if you ever consider taking me up on that offer for you to mod a roleplay, by all means, let me know, because I think you'd make an awesome mod man.

So when do you think I'll be able to start working? The sooner the better because I don't know how busy I'll be in the future, but right now I have the time. I was thinking about fixing your spoiler tags, maybe adding a skin, or jst reviewing your headers and footers. To see what you got in place. It's ok if you're hesitant or maybe retihnk the idea altogether. I just wanna help. Anywy I can. I'll pop in here again later.

I'm not interested in getting too far into site skins at the moment, but I'll tell you what we can do as of now. I'll most likely either private message you or paste the site codes in the staff only section. (Notice you can view it now?) I'll then make a back up of our forum codes and allow you to mess with a copy of them. So, pretty much all I'll ask of you is to look up the codes we need and give suggestions on what codes you think we should add to our forum. Then if you'd like to modify the code yourself, all you'd need to do is modify the copy of the forum code and post the modified code in the staff only section. Once that's taken care of I'll get right onto posting the change back into the headers and footers myself.
By doing this we can avoid having our site codes floating on visible boards and I can ensure that no harm comes to our site codes.
Xaier, I also made you a mod, so you can see the staff only section as well. Right now, I'm thinking of holding off on messing with the site skins until I'm back home, but don't let that stop you from making a thread in staff with any suggestions might now have.

i noticed before that your spoiler tags on gantz players show the "spoilered" information before the spoiler tags kick in, ace; do you know of any way to fix that? the spoiler tags we had before kept stuff hidden even before they loaded.

Easily. It's just that I have a shitton of things to load in my codes. Depends on how huge your global footers are. If you have very few codes you shouldn't be able to even tell.

Mod Training for the roleplay is up and running! If you volunteered to mod a roleplay and filled out an application, I personally sent you a Private Message granting you access to the training board. Everything else is explained in that board.
I also sent a few private messages asking if certain members if they would like to roleplay with us as we go through the training.
And if you didn't get a private message at all, you either didn't volunteer or didn't fill out an application. But don't feel discouraged. I make mistakes too, so if you think you were overlooked or would like to apply for a mod position, let me know a.s.a.p!
P.S: I'll be posting those forum codes for you in staff only Ace.

Holy shit, when did you guys come back?
I kept my project notes from the other board before it randomly died, so if you guys need a mod position I'll be happy to help out.
Otherwise, where do I sign up for everything else?

Welcome back bro, we've been in the process of reviving our site for about a month give or take. So far we've sent out a global email and have been recruiting staff members. Our main focal point as always is the roleplay, and we've been working hard to recruit and train people who've been volunteering to mod. So if you'd like to volunteer to mod a project I'll have to ask you to fill out this template and then I'll send you the information so you can take part in Mod Training. Now with Staff recruiting issues aside, allow me to direct your attention to our Gantz Faq. A lot has changed as o late and I suggest that you catch up on them if you're interested in modding and roleplay. I'd also appreciate if you or anyone else would help give suggestions on how to improve our roleplay, being that since we're starting over, new ideas are much easier to implement.
