reading some replies to other threads, it seems like there are quite a few aspiring writers out there. Not too surprising, really, seeing as it's a text based RP.
So, who else here is an aspiring writer?

I am. I want to write very complex novels that involve philosophy with a twisted plot.

i'm writing sci-fi at the moment. a lot of research has to be done to get the physics behind some of the technology. i want to get it as accurate as possible, but some of the stuff can be hard to understand. one of the problems with sci-fi is that sometimes there are too many explanations of setting and technology that it takes away from the action. lots of sci-fi stories use lasers, but they don't actually say how the laser works. power sources usually arent described too clearly either some of the technology and gadgets you can create are just plain cool. but sometimes its a fine line between 'cool' and 'physically impossible' me and a friend of mine are actually writing stories set in the same sort of 'world'., ie using same systems and some of the same characters. the cross over element seems really cool, and its really interesting seeing different aspects of a character you have created in another person's story. he's also doing some physics at uni, so he brings a lot to the accuracy of technology side of things. it's also really useful when creating characters and setting, as you can bounce ideas off each other and see what works best. we're constantly advising each other about what our characters would do in certain situations. Great training for RP'ing so far i've only written about 14 pages. lots of action so far, but then again, it is an invasion scene. hopefully i can keep the action happening throughout the story.

Yeah I'm doing the same as QM except I add a spice of religion into it, but I'm doing it in a manga form.

Yeah, I like religion a little, except I don't understand it as much as I do logical metaphysics

I used to write, awesome stuff. Sometimes I do, some pages or so.
Last time I had an idea for a collection of short stories, taking an unmeasurable amount of time, all marked with corporate evolution. So it started with a regular OL, who feels alienated, and finally throws herself from the corporate building, which towers over a great city. It was in spanish and I didnt liked the ending. So I dissed it, and now its lost and Im sorry.
I wish I could write again, so it would be cool to know the specs of demonicmuse's universe, and maybe write a story in it.... if you will

universe is still being created at the moment. i wanted to start writing, and as the action is taking place on one planet, i figured i could still write without having the universe fully created. i might post up the specs when its done
of course, i'd have to get approval from the guy i'm writing it with: negator.

Hmm, I'm not the aspiring writer, my sister is. Anything I've picked up is from her. She writes Marquez-ish-style - a whole whimsical, realistic feel. I've been told I should be a writer, but I'm too lazy... I write movie/play scripts a lot (even though I'm not too good but I'd like some feedback if anyone wants to read my latest ^-^). I also draw manga, but like I said, I'm really lazy so I usually fall out of the mood and stop in the middle >.O I finished one movie script (20 pages, about an hour long only but meh, whatever) about a quarantine, I think it's good but I'm kinda scared it sounds a little too much like Battle Royale since I got into the mood after seeing the movie O.o As for manga... meh, you'll never be able to read it - I'm too lazy to scan it into my computer and I'm incredibly shy about my artwork because it sucks -.-

I sort of wanted to get my ass in motion of putting up a online comic that I was doing. I got the plot, the charters, and I got some pages done. But the problem is that I never actually got to try to put it up online and draw more pages for it. I think the stony would be familiar to the people who read it, but done in a way that makes it a good read.

Yeah, I wanted to do an online comic too but I don't have time with school and all the extracurricular crap I have to do >.< Maybe senior year if I get accepted to university early I'll put up a short series over the summer or something.
