When going into battle what song do you imagine playing in the background. Mine would proabably be Linkin Park A place for my Head.

Too many to name. When I get around to it maybe I'll upload a list and post em. IMO it depends on what type of battle you'd be referring to. Am I winning, losing, cakewalking, owning, getting owned, in a team, soloing...etc etc...There's just so many variables that need to be considered and then w/ the right song it all clicks. And to be perfectly honest, I prefer instrumentals and rock songs over rap when it concerns battles on most occasions. Though, for me to choose my own theme song for "me" would be impossible. I tend to get greedy and find it hard to decide on just one. Oh, and by the way, I'm Ronnie. Welcome to the forum and the pleasure is all yours, sir.

You know, Xeno's Grimmjow avatar and Benry's Smoker avatar keeps having me confused between the two.
When I used to rp Lance, I'd have a couple songs I tended to play.
If it was a massive battle, then I'd play "Navras" by Juno Reactor.
If Lance was in control and calm, then it'd be "Woke up This Morning" by A3
And if Lance was protecting Ami or something, then it'd be "Lilium" by Kumiko Noma

I've got some that I'm sure I've forgotten over the years, but I'm a bit partial to the gantz anime themesong "Super Shooter" and "Whoop That Trick" right now. I used to have tons more but I lost/forgot them all when my previous computers killed themselves. Fighting IRL though, I couldn't tell you the theme I hear. I don't pay attention to it, but rather, the task at hand.

For Luke: In an intense battle: "When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000
If everything's nice and calm: "Peace Frog" by The Doors

Hmm... I'd say since none of my characters are really that different from one another, pretty much anything by Dragonforce when they're rushing head-first into battle. Mostly because of the insanity of the music and how little my characters care for themselves. Either they just wanna kill something or protect something so they fight with every inch of themselves.

Hahaha, Dane listens to power rangers w/songs about having a "Magic Secret". Whatever a "magic secret" is, the world may never know.

For battle, mix Hard Metal's bombastic raw power with classical music's wholeness and harmony to create themes of greatness - the kind of thing you'd expect from Beethoven, Carl Orff, 'Blade Runner' theme composer Vangelis or 'Star Wars' John Williams.
For the after-clash, a Bach suite or Albinoni's string adagio - possibly even better, an Enya-like female singer in a mourning song.

I'm surprised no one's going for the odd songs, like Numa Numa, What is Love, Take on Me.

Probably because this isn't the 1980's.

"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion for T-Bag lol
edit: Or maybe anything by Michael Jackson. Maybe even great balls of fire by Jerry Lee Lewis who married his 13 year old cousin.

all that shit is too mellow; tbag is a psycho, remember?
I recommend "Who Knew" by Eminem.
edit: on second thought, that one's too much about eminem's personal shit, so maybe not... but maybe.

I thought a bit more about my characters' leitmotifs. I guess Groo would choose something from the Japanese Taiko drums band 'Kodo' as his battle music; Dani, however, despite not being Christian, would go well with Mozart's 'Dies Irae'.
The aftermath would be a Shakuhachi bamboo flute for the former, and Barber's string adagio for the latter.
That pretty much fits into their personalities.

Dane would have Ode to Joy play whenever there was like a bunch of explosions or things being destroyed around him.
