Shin's Hideout The warehouse looked cleaner then it was just hours before. This was all Mako's doing and the former cheerleader hardly even minded. Not even lifting furniture or carrying heavy garbage bags was a tedious job with her suit at her disposal. Cleaning gave her something to do and helped take her mind off of home, her friends, school and Gantz. She had something to do while here with Shin and it was as if her life had started anew.
However, Mako had moved onto other tasks in her makeshift kitchen that consisted of a refrigerator, a sink and an electric stove. She had what she needed and she was now making what appeared to be curry.
“Darn...I don't have the seasoning I need...” Mako whined.
She then realized she could just go ask Shin to pick her up some and that was worth a try. Even though, it was precisely the tenth time that day that Shin had been through hell and back to get whatever she needed.
“Shin?”
Though, even as she called his name he didn't respond.
“I wonder where he went...” Mako questioned out loud to herself as she glanced at the chair he could usually be found sitting in when she needed him.
'I just wanted him to pick up some seasoning...' she pouted in thought.
Alley Adjacent to the Theater
Yokosuka-Honcho, Tokyo A crow had been flying as fast as he could in an alley way. This crow was none other then Bobbie and he was hoping he could catch up to him and get him to help Kiba, because Bobbie knew he sure as hell wasn't going to do it by himself. He was a coward and he could accept that no matter how others did.
Suddenly his flight was halted as he flew straight into a man with a black rain coat on. He had a habit of bumping into shit today, but was relieved to see that it was actually a person he was familiar with. Hopefully, he could help him instead!
“Hey, your that token black guy with the chick in a coma!” Bobbie announced causing the man's solemn expression to switch to being one of rage.
Bobbie then released a squeak as the man almost shish-kebabbed him with his katana. He then retracted his blade before speaking, “My name is Romney Montezno...get it right next time, eh?”
Bobbie nodded profusely not wanting to piss the guy off anymore. “I can see that your pissed off man...but these pigs are trying to turn 'jungle boy' in to 'the man'!”
This seemed to catch the veteran's interest. “Kiba...is getting arrested? Wha...shit! If he's exposed his fuckin' head'll explode...”
Bobbie blinked at him in confusion. “Your kidding...” he stated in disbelief.
“Right...you don't know about that yet...”
“You've gotta help em...he doesn't have much of a brain to begin with!”
“Fine...but only because I owe em one.” Montezno muttered as he pulled his Hockey mask over his face.
Patrolling would have to wait until later in this case. A debt had to be paid...
In front of Theater
Yokosuka-Honcho, Tokyo This wasn't good it looked like they had him. Kiba dropped his swords and glared at Wesker with pure hatred. He now had no choice but to go along with whoever these people were. But at the first chance he was granted, he would wipe that smug smile off this guys face even if he had to carve it off with his sword.
As his swords slowly clanked to the ground he heard Hope shout something at him. It sounded as if she shouted, “Kiba, No! Kiba, No!”
Then afterward he felt a sharp pain at the back of his head as the butt of the mercenaries assault rifle hit him in the back of the head. “Night, night sweet heart, courtesy of Umbrella, but...administered by Oliveira.” The cocky merc stated only to regain his composure when he noticed that Wesker was staring at him.
“Y-your orders, sir...”
“Don't kill him...we'll bring him back with us...” Wesker replied and turned on his heel.
The mercenary watched him up until the point when Wesker entered his limo, before finally exhaling a large held in breath. He then glanced down at Kiba, sucked his teeth and stated, “He's just a kid too...” he then paused for a moment and then added, “Damn...sorry kiddo, but it sucks to be you...”
“No...it sucks to be you...ese!” Oliveira heard someone correct him.
When he turned he saw someone wearing a white hockey mask, a black black rain coat and with the hood of that raincoat pulled over their head giving them a murderous-like appearance.
“Holy Shit!” The merc screamed after seeing him at first glance.
“Ay, que pasa?” Montezno greeted with his arms spread out as if he were motioning for a warm hug. He then switched his stance quickly and delivered a swift elbow to the exposed merc's jaw. The impact of the blow sent the man flying backward onto his ass.
“You can't...do this...to me...I'm fucking Carlos Oli-oooh....”The man tried to state before passing out.
Montezno then glanced down at Kiba's unconscious form as majority of umbrella and it's mercenaries started to leave.
“Ya welcome kid, but I'm not a damned baby sitter...” He spat only to hear the sound of pictures being taken beside him. When he turned to investigate he was caught off guard by an obnoxious reporter.
“Buuuut...you are a super herooooo aren't you?” She stated with a wink.
Montezno glanced at her name tag. It read back to him as Kole Ozturk. “Uh...I guess ya know?”
“...and what is it you refer to yourself as?”
Montezno took a moment to think about it before crossing his arms and flashing his self proclaimed 'B-Boy Stance'. “The Masked Messiah...” he declared.
Kole's expression shifted from excitement to complete boredom as soon as she heard this. “Wow...thats...pretty lame...” She stated and she sighed feeling as if she missed out on another really big scoop. Umbrella was here and she missed it all entirely!
“Ya think so...huh?” Montezno answered as if he were thinking about coming up with a better name for himself.
“Ah, never mind that...” He stated to the reporter and focused on Kiba's unconscious form. With him now over his shoulder he prepared to carry him back to his own safe haven.
“Live today fight tomorrow kid...”Montezno muttered under his breath.
Behind the Theater
Yokosuka-Honcho, Tokyo Bobbie didn't get very far after his confrontation with Montezno before almost bumping into Takase and a white haired seemingly 18 year old boy. He didn't recognize the boy much, but he noticed that he wearing a black dress suit with his shirt untucked and hanging loosely from his slacks.
From where he was perched, on the roof of the theater, it seemed as if they were arguing about something that had to do with 'Gantz'. Whatever that was...
“You may think you have me figured out...but were onto you as well. When my Master gets his hands on you he'll-”
“He'll what?” Shin interrupted in question before smirking at him. “You may think you have avoided Gantz's wrath, but you are mistaken...with this...” Shin gestured to a black orb in his hand, “you will get...whats coming to you, traitor.”
Takase's eyes widened as if he were crazed before laughing hysterically. “You know not what you speak of boy! You know nothing of our power...of our wrath!!!” he shouted with his hands in the air.
Shin's eyes only narrowed in response to what he was saying. He then began to witness the man's eyes glow a hue of red as his arms fell to his side and an aura that matched his eyes emitted off of him. “Your not impressing me in the slightest by this old man...”
“I'll show you who's an 'old man'!!!” Takase screeched as his body began to split and morph in some sick form of mitosis. When his transformation was complete four of him stood before Shin, smirking and laughing as if they had already won. “What will you do now boy?...Your outnumbered four to one!”
As Takase shouted this Shin began to stick his index finger in his ear as if he couldn't hear him. When the man finished, Shin stood completely still without attempting much of a battle stance at all.
The Takases on the on the other hand charged at Shin attempting to pelt him with a succession of punches and kicks that were easily blocked by Shin's dexterous vectors. Shin then yawned as he was easily bored with the monotony of it all. He then proceeded to take the offensive and used his vectors to snap the necks of and decapitate two of the four Takases.
“Your weak...run home and cry to your master, old man.” Shin mused.
His laughter then stopped short as he turned to look behind him. It was then that Shin noticed Bobbie and for that moment he dropped his guard against Takase, who was already charging forward. By time he focused his attention back on Takase it was far too late and the traitor had managed to snatch his black orb.
“Ha, finders keepers boy....” Takase laughed before tossing it in the air as he began to divide into multiple versions of himself. His original, unknown to Shin, then caught the orb as they all ran in opposite directions and out of Shin's reach.
“Fuck...” Shin swore out loud as he glanced at the roof where he had last seen the crow, Bobbie. “You've just witnessed far...far...too much, crow.” Shin admitted, seemingly pissed that he lost his orb and now had a loud mouthed bird that could possibly ruin all that he had progressed in.
Streets – Inn
Shinjuk-ku, TokyoTheodore didn't appreciate the fact that the subway wasn't running. He was an escaped felon and was walking with a cop who just started asking questions. He had to be careful Had to play it smart so he would not raise suspicion.
"Ahh that's a good question you asked there! I must say that I am quite proud of my family tree!"'If he only knew.' He thought before continuing.
"I have lived in Ohio for the most part of my life, even though I must say I like traveling abroad quite much. I've been to Paris, France!" He said in a French tone.
"A wonderful place I must say. Then I went to Spain, Italy, Germany! I really like European Countries because they have an old history. Then it came down to...Japan." He said as he changed the tone of his voice like he was remembering a sad story.
"Where..." He said as he bowed his eyes down, taking the guts to say the words and looking back at Raito he said
"I was killed." and a weak smile of irony was shown on his face.
Raito didn't really think Theodore was attempting to beat around the bush and lie to him up until the point when he said he was killed. Why would he refer to it as being 'killed' when he could have simply said he 'died'? Using that word, even as little as a lead as it was, still was caught onto by Raito. He was a detective after all and he didn't trust Theodore.
If he was murdered...perhaps, he was being chased. With a bounty on him that'd give him a reason to go from country to country, because he obviously wasn't the rich type. If he were wanted, fleeing to Japan would be the smart thing to do if he had a previous history of visiting European Countries. This meant that not only was this man bad news, but he was an habitual offender. Almost to the extent where he had to flee to begin anew.
"But let's not talk about sad things! What's your story?" Theodore asked Raito.
“In comparison to yours mine is the shorter end of the stick. Just an average Old Joe with a 9-5 job at minimum wage income. Nothing really interesting there...” Raito replied back to him before noticing that they had arrived in Shinjuku-ku.
It was getting late by now and each of them were feeling fatigued and hungry.
“Tokyo Tower isn't to far in terms of getting there tomorrow. That is where you were headed?”
Raito's questioning caught Theodore off guard as they reached a discount Inn. “Oh..uh Yes, of coarse!” he lied.
Theodore had actually been hoping to bump heads with the Yakuza, a gang he had heard so much about. With his new found weaponry, taking over and leading them wouldn't be too hard. Connections with a notorious gang like that would make him less immune to the law and untouchable by authorities.
However, with Raito at his side he wouldn't be able to accomplish much on this day. With that in mind he decided to scrap that idea until later.
“There's an Inn with a corner store...we might as well rest here for today and meet up with the others at Tokyo Tower tomorrow.”
“Sounds good to me...” Theodore responded.
Streets of Shibuya, TokyoAnthony was speechless. 'How did she get this? She wasn't in the apartment with us at all!' he thought to himself.
“Explain!” she shouted again whilst banging her fist on the dashboard.
“Look-” he tried to state, but was interrupted as an X-gun was aimed at him. When he looked closely he could see her index and middle finger were on the top and bottom trigger.
She knew how to use it!
Now at gun point, Anthony dropped his and her controller to the floor instinctively and raised his hands up in his own defense. “Hey, just chill...the fuck out...okay?”
“Now!” she shouted.
Anthony gave no answer. He instead opened the car door and jumped out the truck. His quick thinking saved him from the crazy bitch with the X-gun and controller, but what he didn't predict was the the bus that cut him off when he jumped out.
In other words...the bus hit him and everything went black.
Diner - Hotel
Tamaden, Tokyo Lance's gaze shifted to the waiter that had wondered to close, and the moment he cried out loud, Lance began to move. He slipped out from the counter, using his suit to aid him in strength, Lance moved to grab the waiter, slam his head into the counter just hard enough to cause a minor concussion, then moved his mouth close to the waiter's ear.
“Ack!” Scott screamed out as he nearly fell unconscious.
“What the hell is wrong with you man?” The manager asked only to be ignored entirely.
"She's in witness protection. You just made a very big mistake. Forget you ever saw her with your eye." Lance whispered into Scott's ear, putting emphasis on his last word before his hand moved, digging his thumb into his right eye socket.
Lance Fredrickson was then rewarded with the shrill sound of Scott the waiter, screaming in agony. The screaming continued until a squelching noise was heard and Lance retrieved the man's eye. He then placed the eye on the table and on top of what he paid as his bill.
“Here's my tip.” he stated to the manager.
He then spun around to Ami. She was unconscious it seemed. This made it much easier for him to once again go on one of his now seemingly common, abductions of Ami. Lance moved to wrap his arm around Ami's upper torso and proceeded to haul ass out of there while the manager tended to his employee who was now a cyclops. Courtesy of a one named Lance Fredrickson.
Before long he arrived at a Hotel, with Ami in arms. She still hadn't came to yet and he was glad. It turned out that it'd be better for them to lay low until tomorrow. With that in mind he purchased a room for one and gave Ami the courtesy of having the bed. He figured, she was unconscious and wouldn't be able to say otherwise anyways.
Whatever had happened back there must of done a number on her mind. He'd have to make a mental note to prevent her from coming into contact with people that might recognize her. Or at least until it didn't affect her in such a way.
Meanwhile...Scott awoke hearing nothing, but a siren and mumbled voices around him. He felt as if he had been hit by a truck with the nausea he gained from blood loss. He began to see the interior of the ambulance as he was being moved out of the diner, up in the air and into the vehicle.
He also noticed that several people were looking down at him as if it were in pity.
'Stop looking at me like that assholes, its not like I'm even dead yet. I was simply knocked on the head.' He thought, before the doors were closed and the ambulance transported him to the clinic.
Scott tried to ask the people around him if he seemed to have any major damage, but he couldn't talk, so he just watched those around him check up on him, and he noticed they were looking at his eye frequently. It felt like time flew by and he over heard that it wouldn't be too long before they reached the clinic.
When he arrived he happened to see someone else being rolled beside him. 'What's a cos-player doing in a place like this?' he thought before the gantzer, who was Anthony Hastings, was rolled away in the opposite direction.
Zerojii's Apartment
Chiba, Tokyo The effects of the ride were a a thing of the past and Zerojii's plague of motion sickness were non-existent. He had his share of fun on this day and the pros excelled over the cons of motion sickness.
He genuinely laughed a bit, wiping away the last remnants of vomit away from his lips with the back of his hand, and stood up to face her.
"I haven't had that much fun since I... woke up." Zerojii admitted, trailing off a bit and seeming to regain his serious composure.
Ada smirked at that showing off her beautiful smile.
She had short black hair that just reached her shoulders. She was also of some Asian descent, but never was there a girl of any ethnicity displayed on any tabloids as attractive as this. It was amazing that someone like her knew a guy like Zerojii.
“I'm flattered...” She answered him and brushed a stray hair away from her face so that it was once again positioned behind her ear.
"You got me out of a rough situation back there, and I appreciate it." Zerojii then retracted his katana fully and placed it into its holster. As he did this he noticed that Ada had taken interest into how he easily manipulated his weaponry and when he glanced at her their eyes met.
"The thing is," Zerojii began, looking Ada directly in the eyes,
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know what NERV is, I don't know how on Earth you would know who I am... Hell; I didn't even know my own name up until a few hours ago.”Ada turned away from him at that moment to reach onto her bike and grab a gray suitcase. With it in her hand she glanced back at Zerojii before speaking. “You've lost your memory? Did you...” she began only to pause to smirk, “...fall and bump your head?”
'It would seem plausible seeing as to how he survived that explosion...' Ada thought to herself.
“Apparently someone saw fit to steal my memory.”As he looked down in thought he missed Ada glance at him as if she didn't really believe him, but who really would? It sounded ridiculous...
Zerojii met her eyes once more.
“His name's the Puppet Master. God only knows what he's doing with it right now... But enough about me. I didn't mean to bore you with my trivial troubles.' he apologized.
Ada Wong held her free hand out in front of her and shook her head slightly. “No...no! It had...the complete opposite effect to be honest.” she answered.
Zerojii raised an eyebrow at her almost as if he were surprised that she not only interested, but possibly believed him.
“You said you had something to ask of me.” He reminded her.
“If you still want to ask me anything, I'd suggest we get out of the street and some place a little more... Private. If this is indeed home as you say it is, I'll go ahead and assume you know the rest of the way in. To be quite frank, if you don't take me all the way to my bed I'm liable to end up sleeping in the gutter for lack of a better place." he said with a light heart, seeming to find an almost kindred spirit in this Ada woman.
Ada had proven herself quite able to him, and while Zerojii knew he probably shouldn't trust her, he couldn't help but feel some sort of attraction to her. Zerojii hoped she would accept his invitation back to "his" place, and had spoken truthfully about the reasons. He had no damn idea where "his" place was supposed to be, and would probably have to ask some random person on the street, which would draw attention in his ridiculous getup. This woman seemed to have a whole lot to bring to the table, which was something extremely surprising to Zerojii. He had damn near given up hope on meeting anybody with even a lick of sense in their brain.
“Sounds like a plan then...” she agreed.
Inside of the building Ada easily convinced the man at the desk to give her and Zerojii the key to his apartment. It was as if the man recognized Zerojii and he soon figured out by the the man that he usually left a spare key at the desk anyways. With the key in their possession they rode the elevator to the 5th floor in silence.
During the elevator ride Zerojii noticed that Ada kept staring at him and down at the suitcase that she held at her side. She looked as if she had a curious expression on her face as if there were a connection between him and that case.
Zerojii was then snapped out of his line of thought as the doors to the elevator opened. He was then lead by the bike riding beau four doors down until they stood outside 'his' apartment. There she handed him the key and crossed her arms over her bosom as if allowing him to do the 'honors', as some would presume.
As Zerojii entered Ada didn't, he looked back at her as if confused by her hesitation. She looked as if she were thinking hard on something. Almost as if she were unsure if stepping through that door was a good idea or not.
“On second thought...I'll take a rain check. What I have to ask you can wait...seeing as to how this all might be new and shocking for you.” Ada reasoned before smiling weakly at him.
“I'm sure you'll manage to tuck yourself in well enough...”
She then turned, but she felt Zerojii's hand on her shoulder. “Hey, can I at least have your name? Your the only person I'm aware of at the time who is actually link to aiding me in finding out who I am. I also have no means of contacting you or anything...”
Ada turned and flashed him another smile. “Ada, Ada Wong...its a pleasure to meet you...again. As for how you'll reach me...”
“Yeah?”
“You won't...don't call me...I'll call you.” Her head shifted to the side and she looked inside at his apartment.
When he followed her eyes he saw that she was looking at a small cordless phone on top of a desk.
“I know the number...goodnight, Zerojii.”
Zerojii watched her leave the way they came and he couldn't help but wonder why she hadn't stayed to ask him anything. Ada had helped him without even gaining anything from it. She was a rare girl indeed and left a lasting impression on Zerojii as he attempted to cope with his unfamiliar and slightly cold apartment.
