Chiba, Tokyo As Takase's hand was moments away from grasping the arm of Makoto Setsumi, his eyes widened, comparing to her's that were dead and void in emotion from death as a barrier of electricity emitted from her, surrounding her body and preventing Takase from safely touching her.
“Why do you stall? Touch her already and transcend out with her!” The Magician shouted, noticing Takase's halt in progress.
Takase clenched his teeth, ignoring the magician and focusing on the girl in front of him. Then with new found encouragement he attempted grasp Makoto once more. Then after her arm was grasped an abnormal feeling embraced him and his entire body vaporized do to the electricity.
The Dark Magician held the back of his gloved hand up to his mouth as he witnessed the man be killed instantly. “My lord...do my eyes deceive me now?” he asked in disbelief, watching as Makoto began to teleport out, reaching as far as mid drift.
He then attempted to touch her as well, wondering why Takase had failed, but devoted enough to his Master to still give an attempt himself. Moments before he touched it, though, a voice invaded his thoughts.
'Don't be a fool!' The Puppet Master instructed, 'Touch it and you will suffer the same fate as Takase's expendable shadow.'
“But, Master! What of the rogues...is she not here for us to use as a link to their world? This is a minor barrier that someone of my magic prowess can easily dispose of! I just need a moment...just a moment to-”The Magician tried to state, but was then interrupted by The Puppet Master.
'Takase has failed...the orb is no longer within his possession. Without it you will not only end up just like him, but you also will no longer have use to me when you are deceased...'
“H-he...lost the orb? B-but how...how could he be so careless?”
'It matters not...return to me at once.'
“As you wish, my lord...” The Dark Magician stated as he finished watching the last of Makoto vanish, feeling as if opportunity had just slipped them by.
“Takase is a fool...and when my Lord sees that not only will he no longer be among the living, but I myself will vow to administer his death unto him...” He mused, before turning toward his Rabbit at of the Hat aliens as well as the civillians looking on as if baffled. “Kill them, kill them all my furry little creatures...feast to your hearts content...”
Tokyo Tower Shin landed on the ground in a crouched position, leaving slight depressions in the concrete where his dress shoes were and with his head lowered so that his hair fell over his face. He then slowly began to stand and cracked his neck from side to side quite crudely.
In front of them there was an army of mime aliens, ranging from twenty to thirty of them in all. Each glaring at Shin with clenched teeth. They knew in their minds that none of them could possibly hope to stand a chance against someone even their master had trouble with, but that didn't stop them from standing tall and proud in his path toward the tower...
Shin's eyes flickered and be bared his sharp teeth at them as if he were contemplating how much of a challenge they truly were. As he did this he smirked and pointed at one of the mimes on the right.
“I've envisioned it all...you all will die if you try to fight me, starting with you...yes you.” Shin stated with a smirk, adding, “Do you value that organ in the center of your chest...”
The Mime alien's eyes widened at that statement and looked down at his chest. He then glared back up at Shin only to screech out as his chest felt as if a hand had been driven within it. That hand then grasped his heart and as the alien stared down at the wound in its chest it saw no source as to why it had been impaled. For this moment you saw fear in it's eyes and Shin merely grinned mercilessly before crushing the aliens heart.
“You have no idea how good it feels to kill creatures such as yourself...I despise your kind...aliens and the such.” Shin admitted, running his hand through his long white hair as a facial expression of pure bliss was displayed on his face.
He then laughed, adding “I get off on it...It turns me on when I coat myself in your blood.”
The mime aliens took a moment to look at each other before glancing back at Shin as if petrified. They then proceeded to place their hands in front of themselves as each mimicked creation of an invisible wall. They were no longer trying to oppose him, but just prevent him from coming any closer.
Meanwhile...On the tower, Takase was pacing back and forth, watching on as Shin was intimidating the mime aliens.
“What the hell are you doing? Kill him...tear him apart!” Takase ordered to no avail and began to undue his tie with frustration.
“Why aren't they listening to me?...You all want me to fail don't you? You want to make a fool out of me in front of father don't you?” He rambled on to himself before he heard the Puppet Master speak to him and him alone within his head.
“Takase...you've failed me.” The Puppet Master stated, short and to straight to the point.
“Father I know, but the bird...that damn bird is the cause of all this...I wouldn't have failed if it weren't for that!”
“You still failed me regardless and have shown me that you aren't as reliable as I had expected you to be.”
Takase fell to his knees at that moment, staring to the sky and hoping for forgiveness. His father's good graces were all that he had left in the world and he didn't want to jeopardize that at all.
“Father...allow me to redeem myself. I'll get the orb back...I will!”
“See to it that you refrain from letting your failures repeat themselves....”
Takase then sighed in relief and glared at Shin as one of Takase's shadows, from out of the alley approached him from behind....
Just then....Shin turned and smirked at Takase. “At least announce yourself...I tend to have very quick and sometimes lethal...reflexes. You wouldn't want to surprise me. I never liked surprises...” he mused.
Takase glared at him before adjusting his tie. “I'm through playing games with you. I sugest you 'butt' out of our affairs if you wish to live longer...”
“That's a lot of talk from a mere figment of my imagination...How about you tell the reall you to come on down and say that to my face. Better yet...tell that crazed string puller to come as well, because then I can knock out two birds with one stone...something that you my friend are incapable of.” he stated referring to how Bobbie had just recently stolen his orb.
Takase's teeth began to clench as he was no longer able to suppress his rage. Charging at him and not really caring what became of him, because he was merely just a casted shadow, he attempted to punch Shin. As he swung, he felt an invisible appendage wrap around his neck and began to squeeze lightly.
“Even someone as manipulative as you...Niito have their own fair share of buttons that can be pressed. Since you last had that orb you know all to well where and when the Gantzers will begin their next Hunt. That information is precious to me and now I have it....and for that I can't thank you enough.”
“What the...who the hell are you and how do you possibly know all of this?” Takase asked more baffled then fearful for his life.
“That's for me to know and you to find out when its the most inconvenient to you.” Shin responded before snapping the man's neck.
He then dropped 'this Takase's' corpse, relished on the information he was able to pilfer by touch from his memory and then starred up at the supposed 'real' Takase in the flesh. Shin smirked at Takase and received a glare in return.
'I still have time to get there before it starts....'Shin thought to himself.
“We'll see who recovers the orb back first, hm?” he proposed before jumping into the air and vanishing in the sky as the sunset completely.
