Personality:
Valeria often seems to be even-tempered, calm, and controlled on the outside, rarely giving more than the faintest of smiles, causing some of those who initially see her think of her as cold, humorless, and overly serious. She prefers to put much of her work at a higher priority than her free time, wishing to save extracurricular activities for when she is sure that they won’t be unexpectedly interrupted. She is also very concerned with making good first impressions, and can almost always be seen in modest, sophisticated clothing when visiting new places, is certain that she will meet new people, and even in busy, public areas…which is to say, just about everywhere she goes. Because of this, she does not easily open up to others, even though she can be very patient, polite, and even eloquent with most others.
In many ways, Valeria can be considered to be haughty, but for those that she has become friendly with, she is kind and caring, even liking a good joke every once in awhile. Valeria is rarely angered or notably upset, simply because she does not find such emotions good for her appearances or mind. She only gets irritated when people begin asking too many questions about her, or if they ridicule her family. She will normally deal with rude people by at first ignoring them, and then outsmarting them marvelously in some shape or form.

Background:
Born to a wealthy Italian family in Catania, Sicily, Valeria (then with the last name Bianchi) had been raised to lead a generally smooth-sailing, but mostly uneventful life. In school, she had performed well in art and mathematics, and later on, would express an interest in drawing houses. After graduating, aged 17, she proceeded to focus on architecture, taking her studies to the University of Florence’s Faculty of Architecture. It was early on in here that she met her future husband, Giuseppe Alberti, who focused on engineering, yet was charmed by her appearances after multiple encounters. After a year, attempting to be better acquainted with her, Giuseppe would ask Valeria out on dates, but would be turned down each time. Despite this, Giuseppe remained determined, even after some time later after multiple confessions, Valeria would go as far as accusing him of stalking her.
However, he managed to find his chance during a time which Valeria was struggling to reach a deadline – in fact, she wouldn’t be able to meet it, and this stressed her deeply, to the point that she began to suffer from her hallucinations. Taking note of this, Giuseppe was quick to comfort Valeria and calm her down, and even went as far as to assist her with the assignment that, normally, she wouldn’t have reached. While it was met with less than stellar reception, bringing down both of their reputations a couple pegs, Valeria had been moved by Giuseppe’s efforts, and eventually, she agreed to date with him. As years passed, they began to form a real relationship, with Valeria appreciating Giuseppe’s kind actions towards her and reciprocating, and Giuseppe in turn becoming protective of Valeria. After both graduated with degrees in both of their fields, the two married, and moved into a house of Valeria’s design. A few years later, however, they decided to move over to the city of Metropolis.
Answer the Following:
Cause of Death:
Taking her purse, Valeria had gone out to shop for groceries and silverware one evening, not returning home until about an hour later. Upon her return, when she had used her keys to the house and opened the door, she had found the house to be almost completely wrecked and torn apart, and security mysteriously inactivated and bypassed. Distressed and confused, Valeria called for Giuseppe and searched for him, for he had not been at the doorway when she entered. It did not take long for her to find a body lying face down upon the sofa in the lounge room upstairs, the piece of furniture torn apart and pieces of linen and cotton scattered around the near vicinity. A spear of horror pierced her as she grabbed the body and turned it over, almost immediately recognizing it – bloody, beaten, cut and bullet-pierced as it was – to be her husband, Giuseppe. The fear and despair could not settle inside her well, for Valeria could not believe that her peaceful, comfortable home had been invaded and vandalized, and tried to deny that her beloved husband has been brutally murdered… despite this, reality made these things clear and evident to her. Losing her train of thought and becoming absent minded, she removed a knife from inside her handbag, and, after taking one long, final look at her husband, stabbed herself in her left artery, bleeding to death.
Death in Gantz: to be filled by the mod
Note:
Although I wish for her Cause of Death and other elements to remain the same or rather, because I wish for it to remain the same), depending on how the Project starts up, I’ll either gradually orchestrate the events that will eventually lead to it (if we start with LOG), or it will have already happened if we start with the Hunt. I felt it important to mention because if we start with LOG, Giuseppe (her husband) will actually be alive and living with Valeria up until the point before new Hunters are gathered, but is pretty much scripted to die unless certain major events change. (e.g. Someone attempts to save him, somehow he gets relocated, etc.)

If so, Answer the Following:
- What is your character's profession?
Architectural designer - Does your character get paid well?
Yes, her salary comes in at about $66,000 (or nearly €50,000) annually, or $5,500 (a little over €4,100) monthly, and her income will likely shoot up as she gains additional years of experience. - Does your character like their job?
Yes—it pays well, the pace and environment are generally comforting (but reasonable, otherwise no work would be done, and both can sometimes work against her), she considers herself competent in her profession, and the fruits of her and other employees’ work (i.e. a completely built house) tend to be very satisfying. - Does your character like their boss?
Though not especially close, Valeria has gotten along well with her boss, and will sometimes engage in conversation with her. - How long has your character been employed?
About 9 years. - Does your character work in the City, a Farm, a tourist Island or the Suburbs?
City
Education: Graduated
Inventory:
- A small handbag carrying her personal belongings rests in her left arm. It has enough free space inside to hold 2 X-Guns in the main pocket.
- In various other pockets, she has her cell phone, house keys, wallet, tissues, a hairbrush, and various cosmetics.
- The ceramic knife which she stabbed herself with rests in her right hand upon transferring to the room.
One Strength:
Having worked with computers and other pieces of equipment for a variety of purposes, Valeria has at least a slightly better grasp of technology than the norm.
Remember to Answer all that apply:
- How does this strength affect your character physically?
Depending on the progress of missions, Valeria will probably be someone who holds the more gadget-like pieces of equipment (especially controllers) during hunts. - How does this strength affect your character mentally?
She can learn how to handle certain pieces of equipment (Suit, Controller, Monobike, etc.) faster than normal, and can even learn about certain tools’ limits, such as their range, firing rate, and possibly unique ways to use them. - In what way would this benefit others working alongside your character?
Valeria would be able to watch others backs, possibly set up traps, and, if she’s driving a Monobike, get herself and a teammate to a target quickly. - In what way would this NOT benefit others working alongside your character?
She can choose not to say if she learned anything new about the Gantz equipment, and as such, can use this to her advantage to score more points than other Gantzers. Furthermore, being that she may be more inclined to ranged fighting than melee, she might not be able to hold herself as well as others in close-quarters combat, and rely on others to deal with threats that opt for such.
One Weakness:
Psychosis: Valeria will hallucinate when in deep emotional stress; often, these hallucinations will take the form of something which she would fear, and, as of late, they will sometimes even go to the extent to creating people that take the forms of what she perceives could be her husband’s killers.
Remember to Answer all that apply:
- How does this weakness affect your character physically?
If she decided to chase after or run away from a hallucination, she could end up being separated from the rest of the Hunters, and be left to fend for herself. - How does this weakness affect your character mentally?
Valeria will perceive things that do not actually exist, but the realism of those hallucinations will convince her otherwise, which can cause a variety of (usually emotional; e.g. fear or anger) effects depending on the situation, as well as induce an immediate fight or flight reaction depending on the hallucination. As a result, when cornered (forcibly eliminating the ‘flight’ reaction), wearing a Gantz suit, and hallucinating at the same time, those three factors can be used as a stimulus to activate the suit’s Rage Mode, which will either aid her in fighting off surrounding enemies, or be a total waste of the suit’s energy if those enemies were merely hallucinations. (This, of course, would need to be decided by Ronnie.) - In what way would this benefit others working alongside your character?
If she manages to grasp that something was an illusion in time, she would have heightened awareness, and be more ready to watch someone’s back; likewise, if her hallucinations gave her the feeling that the target was nearby and she says such to the rest of the Hunters, they could become more observant of their surroundings; however, this might not always work out. - In what way would this NOT benefit others working alongside your character?
If she “saw” what looked like a target, she could alert other Hunters to it and divert their attention away from the real target, creating a red herring of sorts. Alternatively, if what she saw was the target, and if Hunters had been fooled before, they may not believe her despite that she is telling the truth.

- Does your character have a preferred style of dress? Describe it.
Far from a stranger to professional fashion, Valeria often dresses in high-end business attire that has been tailored specifically for her, and as such, possesses little variety in her clothing. When working or shopping, Valeria wears one of several jackets and dresses (all of which have varying shades of blacks, blues, and violets, but are all darkly-shaded), with the skirt ending at her knees, and a pair of stockings, black dress shoes, and a baroque pearl necklace to finish off the attire. (This is what she will wear when entering the room.) In cooler weather, she switches the jacket and dress with one of a few similarly dark-colored “Le Smoking” suits, and a white dress shirt beneath. Outside, especially in the snow, she’ll also wear a trench coat for good measure. After work and when staying at home (or close to it, or in familiar settings) are the only times Valeria will “loosen up”, and put on a loosely fitting short-sleeved cardigan, a white T-shirt underneath, and white cotton pants.
Lastly, the wedding ring she received from Giuseppe is almost always resting on her left ring finger; she only takes it off when showering, so that it doesn't rust. - Does your character appear intimidating, average or preferably approachable at first glance?
Given her calm, almost authoritative demeanor most of the time, Valeria might be somewhat intimidating, or perhaps awkward to immediately approach, but otherwise, she’s somewhere close to the average spectrum. - Is your character attractive, average or ugly?
Some people may find her near-conscious effort at modesty and professionalism a bit of a turn off, but physically, looking past that, she can be fairly attractive to others.

- Is your character shy or are they outgoing?
She is more a thinker than a talker for many who meet her, but much of this is usually out of her reserved attitude than shyness. - Is your character a leader, a follower or a balance of the two?
Valeria tends to be a follower when it comes to unfamiliar situations involving people who are familiar with them, but she is capable of commanding in her own right, and can take charge when she feels the situation calls for it.

Answer the Following:
- What brings your character to the City of Metropolis? How did they arrive in the city?
Valeria has lived in Metropolis for several years, and mainly moved there in order to be establish and be part of the city’s branch in the architectural designing company which she is employed under. - Does your character live with parents, guardians, a husband/wife/kids, a roommate/friend or by themselves?
Lives/Lived (see Notes) with her husband, Giuseppe Alberti. She doesn’t have any children or grandchildren, and her parents and in-laws are still living in Italy. - Does your character live in the city, on a farm, in the wilderness, or in the suburbs?
City - Has your character ever gone to jail?
No - Does your character have a warrant for their arrest?
No - Would you like your character to be a member of a gang?
No - Has your character ever killed anyone?
No - Has your character ever witnessed death?
Not in the sense that she saw someone be killed before her eyes, but she has seen a corpse before…her own husband’s corpse. - Does your character have experience w/ melee combat of any kind?
No - Does your character have experience w/ any firearms?
No - Does your character have experience w/ driving a vehicle?
Yes; Valeria passed driving school years ago, and owns a BMW 3 Series Convertible which she drives to work, to run errands, or for simple leisure, and has yet to be in an accident.
