This is becoming ridiculous and were now cracking down on it.
As of today text changes for font styles, sizes and colors of any sort are no longer permitted in posts by role-players who aren't mods in the IC portions of the site. (IC = In character. ex: Main Project & Side Project hunt threads.) Font changes are used to enhance the mood of the roleplay, but now it has proven to be more of an issue then a luxury. Due to the current abuse of it and several complaints we can no longer be lenient about this. I won't begin pointing fingers, but those who did so know who they are and situations like these are what spoil fun for the entire forum.
Font changes in the IC portions of the site will now only be used sparingly by Gantz mods for updates. These uses will be for Gantz text, player post corrections and notes. If none of the allowed exceptions apply the mod's post will remain the same color and size as the site's default font color.
1st Offense - Will result in a warning and correction of your post.
2nd Offense - Your post will be deleted and you will be issued a temporary ban.
3rd Offense - Your post will be deleted and you will be banned permanently.
If you have any questions see if I address them below before asking them in this thread.
Q: Why is this happening? A: This is becoming ridiculous. When people abuse the use of font changes IC it tends to irritate others who may want to read your post, including the mod.
Q: Can I change my font freely around the rest of the parts of the site that are OOC? (OOC= Out of Character) A: Yes, you may.
Q: Can I still make use of the bold, italics and etc etc... A: Yes, but only to a certain extent. There is no reason why your entire post should be bold, italicized, striked out or underlined. Use your best judgement, if theres a problem we will inform you.
Q: What if my font color or style doesn't appear to be painful on the eyes if used? A: Rules are rules and there will be no exceptions.

Q: If one gets a 1st offense, then does it again, but a long time later, say, six months, would that become the 2nd offense? Or would it reset because of the time difference?

Q: If one gets a 1st offense, then does it again, but a long time later, say, six months, would that become the 2nd offense? Or would it reset because of the time difference? Depends how big of a offense it was. Were not going to strive to find offenses, but if there is one were going to address it. If your a role-player theres no reason at all for you to have to use colors in your post so if thats the case, then no it would not reset because of a time difference.

These are the only colors I use when posting...
Normal
Biege
I like Biege because it stands out more than grey (which to me is sometimes annoying, because it seems to blend in).
I think I tried yellow, and red once, but honestly I think I was either on drugs when I did that or out of my mind.
I think you should change the rule to include the exception of when the character is referring to text that the mod edited a different color such as green, and merely copy/paste. Like people are doing in Eastern.

There's no reason to quote anybody during in character posts. Depends, if your reacting to what they said previously. This is why I put their dialog in italics and leave mine normal.

Quoting Gantz? or just copying/pasting the mod's text, there's a reason for that. You don't have to describe the strange way it's written, or the fact that it's in green text... people do it all the time, and it's kind of like adding a picture.

Wait.... does this mean I'm now banned from using my beloved white text for all my posts?
The yellow and the blue text guys, I agree were quite offensive. And the reason why he was talking about his text being blue is that he is playing as Deadpool, a guy who can not die, and who actively knows and breaks the 4th wall.

Wait.... does this mean I'm now banned from using my beloved white text for all my posts? Yes, when posting in Hunts, in which is In Character. It doesn't matter what font you use around the rest of the forum as long as everyone doesn't get out of control with that as well. The yellow and the blue text guys, I agree were quite offensive. And the reason why he was talking about his text being blue is that he is playing as Deadpool, a guy who can not die, and who actively knows and breaks the 4th wall. That's irrelevant now. The decision has been made and all things concerning Deathpool being used as a Gantzer are out of my hands. If you have a problem with Deathpool being used as well as anyone else you should take that up with Project Southern's mod.

But for you to think that anyone else is going to be treated differently is a great mistake on your part. If you can't go without changing your font for a post in a hunt that a MOD, yes a mod has to view and understand then YOU are very very immature. At least have common courtesy for the person who has to update for you or does that no longer matter? This isn't something that I thought I'd have to do and I have to say I'm disappointed. Hell of a way to start out a new year, eh?

Hell of a way to start out a new year, eh? are you saying that the color balance uses is difficult to read? IMO it should be only for colors that are hard to read on the skin and if a person wants to use a different color then he should use just one. Not one for dialogs and one for when he describses etc... and those colors should be readable(like balance's) and not colors that strain the eyes. That's what i think but i'm no mod and neither an admin so it's not up to me to decide. It was only my opinion on the matter. okok we all know benry can be a little slow at times just let it go for now and hopefully everybody will get the point

Now I'm going to be reduced to icky grey for incharacter posting At least I know waht my next two plans are... @pb: "Plans", like in "marks" or "targets"? </me jumps for cover> C'mon, it's uncouthly to take OOC grudges into the game! @ronnie: I get the reasons pointed out, and will (of course) comply. I'd like to point out, however, that there may be punctual reasons or special cases that should be left to the individual mods' decision. For instance, while Deadpool's use of blue fonts was both funny and well in character, my yellow wasn't nearly as justifiable - and even less was my mentor's white (@pb: ) Don't overdo it when creating rules to prevent anarchy lest you end up with a dictatorship. As a final thought: is there any way for me to change the template? I can only get the wifi outdoors, and the colour scheme becomes nearly invisible with the glare.

Don't overdo it when creating rules to prevent anarchy lest you end up with a dictatorship. Heh, overdo it he says...Like I said before, I don't make rules and waste time posting it for my enjoyment. If not using font colors and crap in In Character posts kills your will to post then your not seeing the bigger picture. The topic was open for discussion for questions so you would later not misinterpret the rule, instead of it being for disagreement to why the rule was made. The reason is obvious. As a final thought: is there any way for me to change the template? I can only get the wifi outdoors, and the colour scheme becomes nearly invisible with the glare. As in site skin? The default color for font is a neutral color. Our site borders are in our headers and footers so if we were to make a new site skin those would have to be altered as well.

If not using font colors and crap in In Character posts kills your will to post then your not seeing the bigger picture. Don't get me wrong, I was not speaking against he rules per se, what I was suggesting was a bit of flexibility allowing for the mods' judgement, instead of putting it as an absolute law. As in site skin? The default color for font is a neutral color. Our site borders are in our headers and footers so if we were to make a new site skin those would have to be altered as well. So, it's impossible to personalize it. Still, would it be possible to set the font's colour to PB' brighter one? That'd help a lot!

I personally don't want "reloaded" to change... is that still the default? (black background, grey text with red headers)
maybe you could just make a whole nother skin with just that difference if that's what he wants. balance's color is just a little bright for my tastes.

There is no reloaded anymore. This is Second Chances 2.0 and if we were to make a new skin the borders would show up on that one two. I tried using other fonts, but their too damn bright and hurt the eyes.
