How many times do you think a character could get shot with an X-rifle, or an X-gun, before his suit gives out?
What about the H-cannon, does it kill a Gantzer instantly?

In the manga, I think Suzuki-san got shot about four times or so by the rapists during the Tae mission before his suit broke, but I'm not sure.

four or five x-gun shots (20%-25% dmg each) sounds like about what I'd guess.

We might get to see the H-Cannon later on used against a suit but I'd have to guess about 50%+Some damage bypass to affect the arm directly. This guess would be roughly based on what we've seen the H-Cannons do, and how it seemed Kei was taking damage directly somewhat even though his suit was still functioning vs Shorty Aliens.

considering Izumi got his arm broken in the dino mission without having his suit go out, I think the h-cannon could probably break a limb, but likely wouldn't immediately break the suit. I think 50% suit dmg on a 100 point weapon is reasonable.

Havign the giant buddah step on them was probably almost as bad as an H-gun shot. So I'm guessing two shots would probably break the suit.

Having giant buddah step on them didn't even do much, because katou really did get chipped up by the Shiva statue right afterward. When you take how many hits he took into consideration its reasonable to assume that that didn't do much damage.

They were pushing back on rage mode and not hammered down, so they didn't take damage.

So I guess if you've entered rage mode and are ready to push against the H-cannon blast, you probably wouldn't take damage, either.

If we consider being stomped by the Buddha as equivalent to an H-cannon shot, remember that it took several (don't recall how many) Gantzers to hold the thing; IMO only one would have been squashed as a roach.

I thought everyone cowered, and only Kato held it up because there wer non hunters under it or something?
edit: J, are you not caught up on the manga or something? The muscley miniboss stopped the h-cannon after getting all fucked up...

Jp, I'd like to say at this moment in time. The H-Cannon is a Gravity Well Generator. It creates a space of increased gravity for a very brief moment. If you're own body is strong enough, then you'll be fully able to resist the effects of the "crush". However, the shock from going from say a 1.0 Gravity Field to a 50.0 Gravity Field, would be sufficient enought that even if you'd survive it, the sudden increase in pressure on your internal organs and bones would cause enormous stress on them, and in turn there'd be a high chance for bones breaking and internal bleeding.
However, if you're able to survive the initial gravity shift, then it's quite easy for you to survive a H-Cannon blast.

You sure it's increased gravity and not more of a physical "hammer" being forced down? Didn't the one mini-boss that survived it push it back up? (not rhetorical, really can't remember) If it was increased gravity, his whole body would have been equally effected (more or less) but you could see the top part of his body being flattened. (i think; i should go look it up to be sure)

That's why I use the term Gravity Well. It's similar to a hammer effect. But not quite the same. Gravity Wells are centralised fluctuations in gravity pretty much. It only affects a certain area. A giant invisible hammer head would, in my opinion, affect them different.
Basically, if it was a giant invisible hammer head, it'd cause a blood splatter, plus affect the ground. However everytime the H-Cannon has been fired, it's caused pools of blood and mashed up remains. However there never was any blood splatter. Nor was the ground affected. It simply looked more like gravity was increased at a massive level causing things to be stuck to the ground to hard to move.
Edit: Furthermore, if it was a Giant Hammer Effect, then if an enemy resisted the attack, then it should've deflected onto the surrounding area. If it was instead a gravity increase, then their movements would've been slowed for the moment until the well dispersed.

However there never was any blood splatter. Nor was the ground affected. mangarun.com/gantz/gantz_254/254-02.pngThe ground is affected by the H-Gun. It causes a radius of about... ten feet? and pushes the ground in about six inches to a foot.

The ground is certainly affected more and more with each subsequent hit from the H-gun. I also seem to remember splatter from the final boss in super tit alien form, but I could be wrong. I doubt it's a physical hammer, though; that would probably require more energy to move up and down than to simply create some sort of energy wave (which is the explanation for the guns IIRC; harmonics or some shit).
